Q. What size plaque do I need?

A.

When choosing a plaque size there are several determining factors, such as where your plaque will be placed, the amount of wording, and any logos or artwork that may be included.  A good rule of thumb to follow is one square inch per character.  Of course, you may also choose your plaque to be much larger than that depending on your needs.  Keep in mind that artwork such as pictures, logos, or busts also take up space.  If you are not sure exactly what size plaque you need contact one of our bronze plaque specialists and they will be happy to assist you.

Q. Which mounting hardware should I choose?

A.

There are several options depending on the surface you need to mount your plaque to. Included with your purchase you can choose a blind mounting, woods screws, solid wall, or a hollow wall. Blind mounting is a concealed mounting for solid surfaces.  The mounting cannot be seen from the front of the plaque.  Threaded rods screw into cast lugs in the back of the plaque and are cemented or glued into holes drilled in the mounting surface. Wood screws are for mounting to a wooden surface. Screws extend through the plaque and into wooden mounting surfaces. Solid wall is mounting to any solid surface. Screws extend through the plaque and screw into expansion sleeves.  Pole cap and stake mounting are available for an additional charge. Pole cap mounting is a sleeve, cast as part of the plaque, which slides over the top of a pole and is secured with set screws. Pole caps come in two sizes to fit either 1 7/8” or 3 ½” diameter poles. Stake mounting is for smaller plaques and uses a 3/8” diameter rod that attaches securely to the back of the plaque with a set screw. You can also add decorative covers for your mounting with either traditional or contemporary rosettes.  Rosettes are an additional charge.
